Change Your Smile, Not Your Lifestyle

With millions of Invisalign smiles and counting, many people turn to these clear tray aligners to achieve the smile they’ve always wanted.

Opting for Invisalign over traditional braces has tons of benefits of which you might not be aware. These clear aligners are to be worn at all times, except while eating, as they gradually shift your teeth into proper position. Our expert orthodontist, Dr. Stefen Lippitz, with well over 2,000 successful cases completed, will evaluate your smile and determine whether you are a good candidate for Invisalign.

What Is Invisalign?

Many adults may feel self-conscious about their smile, but the idea of metal brackets prevents them from seeking solutions through cosmetic dentistry. If you are looking for an alternative to traditional braces but still want to achieve the same effect, Invisalign may be for you. Invisalign aligners are an improved version of mouth and dental retainers. The use of a clear aligner is an orthodontic technique used to properly move and align teeth for a beautiful, healthy smile. Each orthodontic patient comes into our office with his or her own unique set of circumstances. Because no one has identical mouths, we develop a treatment plan just for you. Therefore, you should schedule an appointment at any of our offices, including Chicago, Northbrook, and Glencoe, IL. We will discuss your goals and make sure Invisalign is the right option for you.

Invisalign vs. Braces

Traditional fixed braces give you a less than perfect appearance while undergoing treatment, and people’s attention will gravitate toward the metal in your mouth. This can adversely affect your self-esteem, confidence and social interactions. Brushing and flossing can be difficult with metal braces because the wires and brackets attached to your mouth makes it difficult to maintain good oral hygiene.

Invisalign is constructed from clear plastic and not metal like the majority of traditional braces. Because Invisalign is clear and virtually invisible, you will improve your communications skills and boost your self-confidence as your smile becomes straighter.

Treatable Cases

Although Invisalign isn’t for everyone, there are many treatable cases that Invisalign can correct. An open bite, or when your top and bottom teeth do not meet, is a treatable Invisalign case. Overbites and underbites are treatable as well, including crossbites. If you have gaps in-between your teeth, you can benefit from Invisalign. Other treatable cases include crowded teeth or teeth that could be generally straighter.

How It Works

Once our dental professional determines Invisalign in Highland Park is a good course of action for you, we will begin providing you with a series of clear customized trays. Based on an initial smile scan, Dr. Lippitz will create a series of trays for your smile. During your first appointment, we will make sure your aligners fit well and answer any questions you may have. It’s best to wear your aligners 20-22 hours a day for best results. You can expect to wear each set of aligners for around two weeks at a time.

Benefits of Invisalign

One major perk of Invisalign is the fact that you get to see your teeth shift right before your eyes as you continue to progress through different aligners. Plus, you get to continue eating all of your favorite foods because you take trays out while you are eating. Oral hygiene is much easier as you can brush and floss unimpeded. It’s likely that people won’t be able to tell you are wearing trays, so you’ll be discreetly achieving a picture-perfect smile.
